Kut Cultural Diwan discusses the dangers of Turkish dams

Kut The Kut Cultural Diwan organized a symposium on the dangers of Turkish dams close to earthquake zones on Iraqi national security, hosting specialized academics from the capital, Baghdad, to talk about the subject.

Munadhil Jassim Al-Hassan, the owner of the Diwan, told the Iraqi National News Agency (NINA) that we organized this symposium to study the impact of earthquakes on Iraq after the region passed through disasters represented by the earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria, which led to great human losses and to create a state of community awareness towards natural disasters and the possibility of their occurrence in different middle and south regions.

He added that we hosted Iraqi academics, including Professor Ahmed Askar Najaf, a teacher at Karkh University of Sciences in Baghdad, to explain the causes of earthquakes and statistics about the region, as well as reassurances regarding fears of future earthquakes that may lead to humanitarian disasters in populated areas.

It is noteworthy that the Kut Cultural Diwan is a civil organization founded by a group of Kut residents in the heart of the old city center to hold weekly seminars and discuss various topics.
