Local Report: The Percentage Of Iraqis’ Participation In The General Vote Is 32%

Baghdad The Alliance of national networks and organizations observing the elections of the Iraqi Council of Representatives issued its preliminary report to monitor the general vote, pointing to the escalation of violations that accompanied the voting process, in most of the electoral districts.

2024 observers from the Alliance of Networks and National Observing Organizations were able to send their reports to the media office of the alliance, out of 8853 observers.

The report monitored the exclusion of 137 observers or candidate agents, or 6.76%, from polling stations.

According to the report, voters entered 299 polling stations with their smartphones, which constitutes 12%, indicating that the number of stations where voters voted without presenting a document or identification card amounted to 626 violations, or 31%, pointing out that the number of polling stations where suspension of the voting process “officially” 396 times, which constitutes 19.56%.

The report also documented 224 violations of the secrecy of the ballot (collective voting, voting outside the polling station, the presence of persons other than the voter behind the polling station, with the exception of cases of legal aid, and the presence of unauthorized persons inside the station), i.e. 11%.

The Alliance of Networks and National Organizations Observing the Iraqi Parliament elections determined that the participation rate in the general poll, as of 4:PM, amounted to 32%.

It is noteworthy that the Alliance networks and organizations observing the Iraqi parliament elections include Shams Network, the Ain Network, the Freedom Ambassadors Network, the Alliance of Iraqi Minorities, Tammuz Organization for Social Development, and (Watching) Organization.
