Baghdad The independent politician Mahmoud Othman confirmed the existence of political obstacles that prevent the implementation of the agreements between Baghdad and Erbil, pointing out that there is no progress regarding discussions to solve the problems between the region and the center, especially the implementation of the region’s share of the budget.
Othman said in a special statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the discussions between the region and the center resulted in concluding agreements only by sending mutual technical and financial delegations from the ministries of finance and oil in the federal and regional governments before starting to implement the region’s share of the budget.
He explained, “the Kurdish delegation visited Baghdad 19 times to find solutions to the problems, but to no avail, and this matter led to the despair of citizens in the region from implementing the budget, pointing out that any agreement between the federal governments and the center has not been implemented so far.”
Othman pointed out that there are political obstacles that prevent the implementation of the agreements between Baghdad and Erbil, and these obstacles are from some political blocs, and not from the government because it is weak, and it does not have a decision, so the solution is in the hands of the political blocs and not in the hands of the federal government.
