Masrour Barzani Meets The Deputy Commander-in-Chief Of The Coalition Forces In Iraq And Syria

Baghdad The PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received today, Tuesday, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria, General Karl Harris.

During the meeting, according to a statement by the regional government, they discussed the general situation in Iraq and the fight against terrorist threats.

Harris affirmed the coalition forces’ support for the Peshmerga forces in the face of ISIS terrorists, noting that ISIS still poses a real threat to the security and stability of Iraq and Syria.

Barzani stressed the need to strengthen and continue the coordination mechanisms between the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga, especially in the Kurdish areas outside the administration of the region, to eliminate the threats of ISIS terrorists by activating the joint security coordination centers and ending the security gap in those areas.

They also discussed the latest developments in the reform process, and efforts to reorganize and unify the Peshmerga units within the framework of the Ministry of Peshmerga.
