Baghdad Mayor of Baghdad, Alaa Maan, discussed with Tunisian Ambassador to Iraq Reda Zguidan, prospects for cooperation between the two sides and ways to enhance bilateral relations.
The Municipality of Baghdad said in a statement received by the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: “During the meeting, the two sides discussed the relations between Baghdad and Tunisia and the keenness to establish an exemplary relationship based on rapprochement and brotherly ties between the two capitals.”
The Mayor of Baghdad called for opening prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of preserving sites and buildings of a historical and heritage nature and exchanging experiences between the two countries in this regard.
For his part, Zguidan affirmed his country’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two sides and benefiting from the experience of the city of Kairouan in preserving the traditional houses, reviving handicrafts and heritage, and striving for twinning between the two capitals, Baghdad and Tunisia.
Zguidan indicated that “his country seeks to trade exchange between Iraq and Tunisia, and pays attention to construction and reconstruction operations in Iraq.”
