Baghdad, The Minister of Environment, Nizar Amedi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq’s participation in the twenty-eighth Conference of the Parties on Climate Change, which will be held in the UAE, will be effective and fruitful.
Amedi said in a statement: “Iraq has completed its preparations for active participation in the twenty-eighth Conference of the Parties on Climate Change, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates for the period from 11/30 to 12/12.”
He added, "Iraq's participation will be the largest of its kind in terms of the volume of events, activities, high-level meetings, and the launch of promising investment projects."
He pointed out, "Completing the number of political and technical delegations and preparing for all logistical matters for the participating delegation, preparing for the participation of the Environmental Protection Authority in the Kurdistan region, preparing side meetings, paying attention to diversifying the activities in terms of content and participants, determining controls and standards for the participation of civil society organizations, the private sector, academics and activists, and working centrally through consolidated meetings within the committee and producing a comprehensive report on the participation.”
