Baghdad Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, received today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Sidati al-Sheikh Ould Ahmed, on the occasion of the end of his duties in Baghdad.

A Foreign Ministry statement indicated that the two sides discussed the progress of bilateral relations and stressed the importance of increasing the volume of cooperation in all fields.

The minister wished the ambassador success in his future diplomatic missions, praising the efforts of the ambassador in strengthening bilateral relations, calling for the need to open new horizons for cooperation between the two countries, and to work and coordinate everything that would provide security and stability to the whole region and the world.

For his part, the Mauritanian ambassador thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support and assistance of the diplomatic mission in Baghdad, stressing his country’s continued support for Iraq and working to strengthen bilateral relations.
