Baghdad, The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari confirmed, on Thursday, that there is fruitful cooperation between Iraq and Jordan in border control.
Al-Shammari said, during his meeting today, Thursday, with the Jordanian media delegation that is visiting Baghdad at the invitation of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, in the presence of the Jordanian ambassador: “Iraq and Jordan are linked to many close ties and crucial issues.”
He added, “There is fruitful cooperation between the two countries in controlling borders and combating drug smuggling, as well as cooperation between civil defense teams,” stressing: “Iraq is a country of Arab brothers.”
The minister discussed with the delegation, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, a number of issues of common interest, and the fraternal relations that bind Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
