Baghdad Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm discussed today, Tuesday, with the Swiss Undersecretary for Migration and Displaced Affairs, Urs van Arp, and his accompanying delegation, the development of bilateral relations and the file of the displaced.
A statement by the ministry stated that the two sides discussed “the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them, especially in the field of dealing with the issue of displacement in Iraq, and the expected role of the Swiss government in this field, within the framework of the national plan for the voluntary return of the displaced that was recently approved by the Council of Ministers.”
The minister explained that the return of the displaced requires working to provide the basic requirements for life, and this is what the Ministry of Migration and Displacement is working on in cooperation with the relevant authorities, explaining that most of the camps have been closed, after the return of their displaced residents, and efforts are continuing to address the conditions of the remaining camps, in order to secure voluntary return for all the displaced to their areas.
