Member of Parliament Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani affirmed that the aim of assassinations is to create a general atmosphere for boycotting the upcoming elections.
He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the escalation of assassinations, which affect activists and others, is a negative matter that affects in one way or another the preparations for the elections and the extent of participation in them.
Al-Sudani added that boycotting the elections is a fatal mistake that may lead to negative developments. I do not rule out postponing them.
Baghdad and a number of provinces have witnessed during the last period the assassination of activists, the last of which was the member of Al-Azem Coalition, activist Hashem Al-Mashhadani, in the capital, Baghdad.
