MP From KIU: We Will Withdraw From The Provincial Govt. If It Did Not Implement The Reform Project

A deputy of the Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc announced that the withdrawal of the Union would be a strong option if the provincial government did not respond to its reform project, which consists of twenty-four points.

Sherko Jawdat, head of the energy and wealth committee in the Kurdistan parliament said, “The real power in the region with the parties that have weapons and tank rather than the authority of parliament,” added “There is no model for the Kurdistan region in the world.

He explained that the Kurdistan Islamic Union has submitted a reform project to the government of the region in order to achieve reforms and radical changes in the governance institutions in order to address the current situation, especially with regard to improving the living conditions of citizens, noting that the withdrawal would be a strong option for the Islamic Union if the provincial government did not implement the reform project during a short period of time.

The head of the energy and wealth committee in the Kurdistan parliament stressed the need to form a broad front to fight corruption rampant in government institutions
