Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani: Political blocs deliberately disrupt the oversight role to avoid accountability of the government for its negative performance

Baghdad Member of Parliament, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, confirmed the existence of political blocs that deliberately disrupt the oversight role to avoid accountability of the government for its negative performance.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that these blocs deliberately violate the quorum and hold a session of Parliament to avoid the interrogations that await Ministers and senior officials under the auspices of these parliamentary blocs.

Al-Sudani added that these blocs also deliberately disrupt the oversight role to spare the government accountability for its negative performance, which caused an increase in the suffering of citizens’ living, service and security.

The House of Representatives had failed to reach a quorum to hold the sessions, which included interrogation of the Ministers of Finance and Oil.
