Nechirvan Barzani is discussing with the Italian Ambassador the development of relations with Rome and the solution of problems with Baghdad

Baghdad The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, discussed with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Cricanti, the development of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in general, with Italy, while the Ambassador considered that resolving the problems between Erbil and Baghdad would contribute to increasing foreign investment.

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region said in a statement, “The President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, received today the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Cricanti, and expressed his thanks to Italy for its support for Iraq,” noting that “there is a positive atmosphere between Baghdad and Erbil, and that the steps taken by the federal government until now a place of hope.

The President of the region also stressed that “Baghdad is a basic partner for the Kurdistan region, and there is no other way for the two parties except to solve problems.”

For his part, the Italian Ambassador considered that “his meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Region at the February conference in Munich was positive,” stressing that “solving the problems between Erbil and Baghdad will make the international community move towards Iraq more and contribute to increasing foreign investment.”
