BAGHDAD / The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed that he places high hopes on his visit and his accompanying delegation to Russia, and his meeting with the Russian President and Foreign Minister.
Barzani said during his meeting with the Kurdish community in Russia, "we have the conviction, after this visit, that there are good changes in the Russian officials policy towards Kurdistan."
He said that Russia is an important country, and we look forward to strengthening relations with it in all areas, whether political or economic, adding that the Russian president spoke during the meeting about the continuation of Russian support for Kurdistan in the war against Daesh and continued for two years or a lot. "
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan region stressed the importance of the visit to Russia, expressing his hope "to open a new phase of relations in the political and economic fields."
It is noteworthy that Nechirvan Barzani arrived in Russia last Wednesday at the head of a high-level delegation from the Kurdistan region, to participate in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, and held on the sidelines of the forum meetings with the Russian President and the Russian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Energy, and the Kurdistan Regional Government signed a series of important agreements with the company Russian Rozenft.
