BAGHDAD / Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani thanked Canada for its military and humanitarian cooperation with Kurdistan.
Barzani, during a meeting in Arbil, with the Canadian Defense Minister, Harjit Sajjan according to a statement to the Kurdistan Regional Government, praised "cooperation and coordination between the Peshmerga forces and Canadian military advisors and trainers, wishing to continue Canada's support, especially in the human side, because the number of displaced people to the region since the beginning of the liberation of Mosul battles continues to increase.
On the relations between Erbil and the central government, Barzani pointed that "there is a good military cooperation between the two sides, stressing the continuation of this coordination and cooperation, thanking the international community and the Coalition to bring assistance to the region.
For his part, Canadian Defense Minister, during the meeting, thanked the Peshmerga forces to close cooperation with the Canadian advisers and trainers, expressing his country's readiness to provide necessary cooperation to them.
He noted that "the stability in the Kurdistan region had shown a good factor for foreign investment and the Canadian government can encourage this trend.
