Oil Minister: Iraq cannot bear any significant drop in oil prices

Baghdad Minister of Oil and Chairman of the National Oil Company Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar announced that Iraq cannot bear any significant drop in oil prices.

Abdul-Jabbar said in a televised statement: “OPEC is trying to control the energy market in a positive way, noting that there is no political pressure on the Total contract.”

He added, “We are trying to withdraw unemployment through the establishment of major projects, and we are trying to reach the production of 7 and a half megawatts of clean energy.”

He continued, “We are working to secure clean and sustainable energy for future generations, adding that there are differences between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region related to oil production and export.”
