Baghdad The independent Kurdish politician Mahmoud Othman said: “The withdrawal of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr from the political process, may lead to the postponement of the elections and aggravate matters in the country.”
Othman confirmed in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The withdrawal of the Sadrist movement from the political process may cause the upcoming parliamentary elections to be postponed, since there are political parties seeking to postpone them, for several reasons, including politics, security and corruption, and therefore it is possible to benefit from these situations to postpone it.
He explained: “There are internal parties that are working to blow up electric power towers and set fires in factories, facilities and hospitals, and seek to aggravate matters in the country, so its reputation (Iraq) abroad will be at its worst, and he described Iraq as a failure and unfit to live, as in the latest global statistics in terms of the most dangerous countries in the world to live, beyond Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen, and therefore the situation of Iraq is very difficult and going into the unknown.”
It is mentioned that the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced last Thursday that he would not participate in the upcoming elections in order to preserve what was left of the country and to save the country that had been harmed by the corrupt.
