Pavel Talabani discusses with the German Ambassador ways to overcome the differences between the Kurdistan region and the federal government

Baghdad The Head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, discussed with German Ambassador Martin Jacker ways to overcome the differences between the Kurdistan region and the federal government.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan website stated that Talabani received the German Ambassador in Baghdad, and during the meeting, they stressed the importance of strengthening relations and expanding coordination between the two sides, especially in the economic and cultural fields, and the continued support of the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, within the framework of organizing and unifying those forces.

In another axis of the meeting, according to the statement, they discussed ways to overcome the differences between the Kurdistan region and the federal government, where the two sides agreed on the need to find an appropriate solution to the problems, in a way that preserves the rights of all parties.

According to the statement, Talabani referred to the bold decision of the German parliament regarding recognizing the mass killing of Yazidi sisters and brothers as a crime of genocide, adding, “the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan welcomes this important and fateful decision, and we hope that other countries will follow Germany’s example in this regard.”
