Baghdad Planning Minister Khaled Battal has reiterated the government’s work on the return of all displaced families after completing all services in their original residential areas.

Battal called, during his meeting with the Italian ambassador to Iraq, Bruno Antonio Pasquino, for more international efforts to help the Iraqi government restore stability and reconstruction of areas affected by terrorist operations and contribute to supporting and implementing more vital programs at the national level, noting: “The Iraqi government has given special attention to the file of the displaced, helping them to return voluntarily to their homes, and ending the problem of internal displacement completely.”

For his part, the Italian ambassador affirmed that his country is keen to strengthen cooperation with Iraq, and to provide more support for the efforts of the Iraqi government, on the humanitarian and developmental levels.
