The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Al-Sudani, directed the security forces in Kirkuk Governorate to take their role in extending security and imposing the rule of law towards rioters in the governorate.
Al-Sudani stressed that these units should be firm in arresting anyone who dares to tamper with the security of Kirkuk, from any party, and not allow the carrying of weapons at all, except for the security services.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed to impose a curfew in Kirkuk and the initiation of extensive security operations in the areas that witnessed riots for the purpose of thorough inspection.”
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahia Rasool Abdullah, said in a statement that Al-Sudani also called on all political parties and social and popular figures to take their role in warding off strife and maintaining security, stability and order in Kirkuk Governorate.
