Baghdad Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, affirmed: “Security is a collective and participatory responsibility, and its fruits flow into all other fields.”
Al-Kadhimi said during his meeting with the military and security leaders in the Samarra Operations Command today: “Despite the security achievements and victories achieved by our security forces, there are still violations that occur from time to time, and this calls us to work more to strengthen and consolidate security.”
He added: “What is required is to find greater security coordination between the various security forces and institutions, for security is not achieved only by military operations, but by consolidating the reasons for sustainable security.”
He continued, “Sustainable security requires an interconnected network of correct policies, coordination, training, logistical support, and so on,” calling on all security institutions in the province to work collectively in a team spirit, to miss the opportunity on sleeper cells by exploiting some of the gaps that may occur due to poor coordination.
The Commander-in-Chief stressed the necessity of the armed forces continuing to conduct military exercises and maneuvers in the mountainous and desert areas that are exploited by terrorist cells, noting: “The training perpetuates the spirit of readiness and confrontation.”
He directed to find direct and continuous channels of communication with the people in the various regions of the governorate and to seek their help in achieving security and preventing and pre-empting terrorist activities, noting: “Security is a collective and participatory responsibility that its fruits flow into all other fields, without it, the security, prosperity, urbanization, trade, or stability cannot be achieved.
