Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi stressed that the shrines of Samarra are religious symbols and heritage for humanity, as well as a civilized history and moral values for all humanity.
Al-Kadhimi said, during his visit to the shrine of the two imams, peace be upon them, in Samarra: “The two imams, peace be upon them, represent divine and human landmarks that bind all the Iraqi people together, and the rest of the wisdom that enlightens humanity.”
He added: “The imams are not the property of a sect, or religion, but rather human symbols that we draw inspiration from, imitate their guidance and put their values in mind in life.”
He pointed out: “These shrines are sacred places that bring us all together as Iraqis under one umbrella, whose title is love and humanity, and that the shrines of Samarra are religious symbols and heritage for humanity, as well as a civilized history and moral values for all of humanity.”
He continued: “We must work to develop the reality of the city, develop its infrastructure and enhance its tourism potential. Samarra deserves to make a lot of efforts, and we aspire for Samarra to be a cultural capital with its religious symbols and historical depth, and to be a destination for lovers of the Ahl Al-Bayt and lovers of history and Islamic heritage from all around the world.”
