KIRKUK, IRAQ – A security source in Kirkuk announced that an officer was killed and a member of the federal police was injured by an explosive device targeting a federal police patrol in a village south of Kirkuk.

The source said that a bomb exploded on a patrol of the federal police in Albu Mohammed village of the district of Daquq, south of Kirkuk, 35 km, which resulted in the martyrdom officer (captain) and wounding a police sergeant.

The areas south and west of Kirkuk witness, between now and then, activity of the Daesh fugitives in light of the imminent launch of an operation to hunt down fugitives in the areas south of Kirkuk and east of Tuz and Daquq districts.
