Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Fuad Masum, stressed the importance of continuing coordination between friendly countries to eliminate terrorism once and for all, expressing “Iraq’s readiness to offer its extensive expertise to all friendly countries, including European countries, to support their plans to combat terrorist groups.”
Masum hailed “The depth of the historic friendship ties between Iraq and Germany and his country’s readiness to develop them in all economic and productive fields as well as military and security relations,” Masum said during a meeting with German Defense Minister Ursula von der Lin.
He noted “the prospects for future cooperation between the two friendly countries, welcoming the participation of German institutions in the reconstruction of Iraq and German expertise in the development of industry and agriculture.”
He stressed “the adherence of all Iraqis to the democratic system in the framework of a unified and advanced Iraq, expressing confidence in the success of the upcoming elections and move forward to develop the federal democratic system as well as resolving all internal differences on the basis of the Constitution and decisions of the Federal Court.”
For her part, Von Lin expressed “Germany’s appreciation for the performance of the Iraqi forces and their victory in the war against terrorism, renewing its country’s full support for Iraq and its keenness on its unity and sovereignty and the development of its democratic system and its support to resolve all internal disputes on the basis of law.”
She confirmed “Germany’s readiness to expand military cooperation with Iraq, welcoming the call to German companies to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq,”
