Baghdad President Barham Salih affirmed during his meeting with Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod that “Iraq supports working with its friends in the international community to consolidate the stability of the region and confront terrorism, violence and climate change as common global challenges.”
President Salih said, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic: “Iraq looks forward to working with brothers and friends in the international community to consolidate security and stability in the region, reduce tensions and defuse crises in order to consolidate regional and international security.”
He added, “The stability of Iraq, ensuring its security and sovereignty, and its diplomatic relations open to all, are an important requirement for the security and stability of the entire region,” pointing to the need to strengthen international cooperation in facing the challenges of violence and terrorism, and health cooperation, as well as facing climate change and protecting the environment as the challenge of the times.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of developing bilateral relations and enhancing prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, as well as reviewing international efforts in the war on terrorism.
