Protesters in Babylon close the governorate and municipality buildings with waste

Hilla Angry demonstrators closed today, Thursday, the Babylon Governorate building and the Hilla municipality building with waste, in protest against the failure to remove waste from the streets and neighborhoods of Hilla due to a four-day strike by cleaning workers.

Demonstrator Jalal Hussein said, “the cleaning workers’ strike in Hilla entered its fourth day, which caused the streets and markets to be closed with waste, and the bad smell overwhelmed the city at a time when the local government was silent in front of the demands of the cleaners to raise their wages, convert them into ministerial contracts, and calculate the period of their service for the purposes of retirement.

He added that the situation is alarming unless decisive steps are taken to solve the problem.
