Reconstruction campaign in the southern port of Umm Qasr to receive oil tankers

Basra The southern port of Umm Qasr is witnessing a reconstruction and restoration campaign for all its facilities, to prepare the port for the entry of two tankers, one loaded with raw edible oil and the other waiting to be supplied with oil derivatives.

The Director General of Ports, Engineer Farhan Al-Fartousi, said in a statement: We are always keen to maintain our ports and berths so that they are ready to receive all types of marine pieces, whatever their size, stressing “the need to equip Iraqi ports with the latest technologies to attract the largest possible number of international maritime companies.”

He added that the berths of the southern port of Umm Qasr received two tankers, one of them loaded with raw edible oil, and work is underway to unload it, and the second is awaiting the arrival of approvals to supply it with oil derivatives for export.
