Kirkuk A number of graduates and contractors with the North Oil Company said they were beaten and assaulted by the riot police of Kirkuk police.
Pictures and video clips showed an attack with sticks and batons by those forces on the crowd in front of the North Oil Company gate.
A number of demonstrators, who were taken to Kirkuk General Hospital, were wounded.
The demonstrators demanded an urgent investigation and the protection of peaceful demonstrators from attacks.
