Baquba, A security official confirmed: “The visit of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, to Diyala Governorate will be supportive of the police leadership in confronting and pursuing smuggling gangs in the province.”

The security official told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The visit of the Minister of Interior to Diyala came to confirm the position of Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani that there is no one above the law and everyone involved in smuggling and drugs and targeting the security forces will be punished. In addition, it is a message that pressure to change some security leaders because of their success in combating drug and smuggling is unacceptable.”

The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, arrived in Diyala this morning and held meetings with government and security leaders to discuss the details of the security situation, especially the war on drugs and organized crime.
