BAGHDAD – The Iraqi Intelligence Agency has successfully apprehended six individuals in Nineveh, suspected of affiliation with the terrorist group ISIS. These arrests were made under Article Four of the Anti-Terrorism Law.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, The agency, in a statement, indicated that the suspects were detained in a well-planned ambush following thorough information gathering and investigations. During interrogation, the accused explicitly confessed to their involvement with ISIS, specifically within units like the Agriculture and Military Bureau, Rapid Intervention Force, Mujahideen Affairs, the Ain Jalut Division, and the Army of Al-Usra. They reportedly received monetary compensation for their membership in these ISIS factions.
Their confessions have been officially recorded, and the suspects have been transferred to relevant authorities for judicial proceedings to ensure they receive appropriate legal consequences for their actions.
