Baghdad The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, met in Cairo with the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Kurdistan Region, Shtiwan Sadiq Abdullah.
In a statement, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament affirmed: The Arab Parliament’s full support for Iraq with all its components, stressing that: Iraq is a pivotal country in the Arab world and is on the right path to restore its accustomed role in the Arab and regional system.
He also stressed total rejection of any regional or external interference in Iraqi internal affairs.
Al-Asoumi added that the Arab Parliament is keen to strengthen relations with the Iraqi state with all its institutions for the good of the brotherly Iraqi people.
For his part, Abdullah praised the role played by the Arab Parliament at all levels, stressing that the challenges that Iraq is going through require coordination and unification of efforts and rejection of any interference in Iraqi internal affairs.
He invited the Speaker of the Arab Parliament to visit Erbil at the time he deems appropriate, for further consultations and strengthening relations.
