Spokesman for the Elections Security Committee: The Anti-Terrorism Service will participate in securing the elections

Baghdad Spokesman for the Supreme Security Committee for Elections, Brigadier Ghaleb Al-Attiyah, confirmed that the Anti-Terrorism Service will participate in securing the elections.

Al-Attiyah said in a televised statement: “The hotline was established to report cases of electoral violence, adding that we were not informed that any candidate had been threatened.”

He continued: “Some of the electoral posters are being torn up by children, adding that one month’s imprisonment for anyone who is proven to have torn up electoral campaigns for candidates.”

He indicated that, the reason for preventing the phone from entering polling stations is so that the voter is not exposed to pressure by filming his vote for a particular candidate.
