Baghdad The Spokesman for the Sulaymaniyah Health Directorate, Dr. Yad Naqshbandi, announced today, Tuesday, that the first death from the black fungus was recorded in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

Naqshbandi told the website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan: “the deceased person was of Arab nationality, aged 78, and was suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart diseases.”

The city of Nasiriyah, the center of Dhi Qar Governorate, had earlier recorded two deaths from black fungus.
