Terrorist Incidents Decreased In Al-Waqf Basin In Diyala

Al-Abara district in Diyala governorate witnessed a decrease in terrorist incidents, after the security fortification plan.

Shaker Al-Tamimi, director of the district, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the security measures and plans for the security forces in fortifying more than 20 agricultural villages within al-Waqf basin, northeast of Baquba, contributed greatly to reducing security breaches after the destruction of dozens of dens and hideouts in the orchards.

He added that cleaning of al-Waqf basin, or what is called “the strip of fire” between the two sides of Al-Abara and Abu Saida, is the liberation of the flank of Baquba from hideouts of terrorism. Pointing out that the purification plan will be accompanied by an organized service plan to restore life to agricultural villages and enable their residents to carry out their livelihood activities.
