The Algerian ambassador confirms his country’s keenness to convey Iraq’s concerns to the Security Council


The head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fadel Al-Rahim, received the Algerian Ambassador to Iraq, Jihad Al-Din Balkas, in the Ministry’s building.

During the meeting, according to a Foreign Ministry statement, areas of cooperation and coordination of positions in international organizations, nominations for international positions and other issues of common interest were discussed, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues presented to the dialogue table in multilateral international forums.

The head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences stressed the importance of exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, in light of the position that Algeria currently occupies as an Arab member of the Security Council, since the two countries share identical views on many regional and international issues.

For his part, Ambassador Jihad al-Din Balkas expressed his country
‘s appreciation for Iraq’s political positions, stressing his country’s keenness to convey Iraq’s concerns and interests to the Security Council in accordance with what Iraq’s national interests.
