The arrest of a suspect for distributing extremist and offensive leaflets to Religious Authorities and other gang members who steal mobile phones from visitors

Najaf The Najaf Police Command announced the arrest of a suspect distributing extremist and offensive leaflets to religious references, and another gang stealing mobile phones from visitors.

It said in a statement that “a suspect was arrested for distributing leaflets of extremist ideas and insulting expressions of Religious Authorities in Najaf.”

He added, “that Al-Karar Division for Combating Crime arrested two suspects in flagrante delicto, in their possession 29 mobile devices stolen from visitors near the upper holy shrine and the Husseini processions.”

It indicated that “the defendants were seized with an amount of 675 thousand dinars from selling 9 stolen mobiles, and a pipe was seized in their possession for using crystal, indicating that the defendants were from one of the southern governorates, and they were guests in a hotel in the old city during the visit, and they were referred to the judiciary to receive their punishment
