Unknown gunmen assassinated the Mukhtar of Domiz district east of Mosul, according to a security source.
The source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “gunmen opened fire with light weapons towards the Mukhtar Ali Rifaat al-Bayati as he left his home in the Domiz area and killed him on the spot.”
He added that “the security forces have surrounded the area soon and launched a search campaign to search for the perpetrators of the assassination after the taking of the body of al-Bayati to the forensic medicine and opened an investigation into the incident.”
