Baghdad The British Foreign Office announced today, Wednesday, that Britain will invite a representative from North Korea to attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral next Monday, but it will not send invitations to Afghanistan, Syria and Venezuela.
It added, according to Reuters, that the invitation to North Korea would be at the ambassadorial level.
Queen Elizabeth’s funeral will be held in London on the 19th of this month. A number of world leaders, royals and other dignitaries have already announced that they will attend.
Syria and Venezuela will not be invited because Britain does not have diplomatic relations with them, due to the events that followed the year 2011.
An invitation was not extended to Afghanistan because of the current political situation there.
These countries joined Russia, Myanmar and Belarus, which were not invited to the funeral.
