The Cabinet refers the draft law of the Child protection to the House of Representatives

Baghdad The Council of Ministers referred the draft law of the Child protection, which was reviewed by the State Council, to the House of Representatives, based on the provisions of Articles (61 / first – 80 / second) of the constitution.

The law aims, according to the statement of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, to secure the necessary protection for the child from all forms of violence, force, physical or psychological abuse, neglect or exploitation, and prohibits child trafficking, enslavement, coercion to work, exploitation in any form, or involvement in armed conflicts.

The law also aims to provide a role for social, psychological, health, educational and accommodation protection for a child who suffers from family disintegration or has lost the care of one or both parents for any reason, and to secure all his needs.
