The Capabilities Of The MoD Do Not Allow The Implementation Of The Current Military Conscription Law

Baghdad The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee resolved the controversy over the details of the draft law on the military conscription, and confirmed that the draft that the Council of Ministers recently voted on is not the version that was in the previous parliament and was presented at the beginning of the current legislative session.

Committee member MP Ali Al-Ghanimi said, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: “The Ministry of Defense has not yet confirmed the extent of its readiness to implement the law, especially with regard to infrastructure and readiness to accommodate those covered in accordance with the rules of military action,” noting: “The implementation of the law depends on the capabilities of the Ministry of Defense and its infrastructure, which do not currently allow the law to be implemented.”
