Baghdad The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, discussed with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the file of international election monitoring.
Judge Jalil Adnan gave the delegation, which included Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Qahtan Al-Janabi and Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences Abbas Kazem Obaid, a presentation of the efforts made by the Commission in communicating with important international organizations around the world, for the success of the file of international monitoring of the elections on October 10 in particular, the United Nations, through its mission in Baghdad, which accompanied all the preparations for the electoral process, as well as the European Union mission, whose exploratory delegation visited the headquarters of the Commission a few days ago.
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners praised the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which showed great keenness on its part to facilitate everything the Electoral Commission needs, in all stages and joints related to the elections.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Legal Affairs, Qahtan Al-Janabi, affirmed the ministry’s keenness to facilitate the work of international observers for the importance of holding these elections in an atmosphere that enjoys the confidence of the Iraqi voter and sending a message to the world that they were conducted according to transparent principles and criteria.
For his part, the head of the International Organizations and Conferences Department, Abbas Kazem Obaid, praised what the Electoral Commission has worked on in terms of communication with international organizations and countries of the world that are interested in holding the Iraqi elections in a fair and sober manner.
