Basra The Commander of the Fourth Region Border Guard, Major General Khalaf Al-Badran, congratulated the journalist family and its Head, Mr. Moayyad Al-Lami, on the 125th anniversary of the Iraqi National Day.
Al-Badran said in the congratulatory telegram, the Command of the Fourth Region Border Guard extends its warmest congratulations and blessings to the journalist family, on the occasion of the 152nd anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi press, which was launched on June 15, 1869 with the issuance of the first issue of Al-Zawra newspaper, whose date of issuance represents the National Day of the Iraqi Press.
He added, “On this occasion, we recall the heroic stances of journalists and media professionals throughout their long bright history, the great journalistic and media role they played after 2003, and the brave and courageous stand alongside the security forces and the popular mobilization in the arenas of pride and dignity against the ISIS.”
Al-Badran continued, “We also remember and are proud of all the heroic martyrs from the press and media who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the homeland and in order to convey the truth honestly and impartially.”
