Baghdad The coordination framework strongly condemned the repression of peaceful protesters, the excessive use of violence and the burning of tents, despite their adherence to peaceful protests.

The coordination framework said in a statement: “We strongly condemn the repression of peaceful protesters, the excessive use of violence and the burning of tents, despite their adherence to peaceful protests.

It added, “The government should assume its responsibilities by providing protection to peaceful demonstrators and conducting an immediate investigation to find out those responsible for firing live bullets at peaceful demonstrators.”

It continued: “We support the constitutionally guaranteed right to demonstrate and stand with the voices of the masses calling for justice and transparency in calculating and announcing the results of the elections. We also call on the sons of the security forces to protect their brothers from the demonstrators and to continue the high coordination that was between them in the past weeks, and we urge our protesting sons to maintain the peacefulness of their demonstrations.”
