Baghdad The Supreme Judicial Council announced the registration of 4,660 divorce cases during the month of May, in all governorates, except for the Kurdistan region.
According to a document issued by the council, 3,365 cases of external divorce attestation were recorded, and 1295 cases of separation by court ruling.
It added that 17,791 marriage contracts were registered, and 2783 marriage contracts attested outside the court.
The Baghdad Rusafa Court of Appeal witnessed the highest percentage of divorce cases, at 885, as well as the highest percentage of marriage cases, at 3,007 cases.
