The death of the former Iranian chief of staff, Major General Firouzabadi

Baghdad  The former Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, died today, Friday, at the age of 79.

According to the Fars News Agency, Major General Firouzabadi, the former chief of staff of the armed forces and the supreme military advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, died after suffering from illness.

Abadi served as Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for 27 years from 1989 to 2016, after which the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, appointed him as Supreme Military Adviser to the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, and in the recent period he was appointed to the Expediency Council.
