Kirkuk The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, discussed the security situation in Kirkuk with the winner of the elections for the Turkmen Front, Arshad Al-Salihi.

A statement issued by Al-Salihi’s office stated that: “During the meeting, they discussed the overall security developments in Kirkuk, the repercussions of the recent attacks launched by ISIS terrorist gangs, the importance of strengthening the province with more military units, activating the intelligence effort and continuing operations to track down terrorist sleeper cells.”

After the meeting, Al-Salihi confirmed that, despite the readiness of the Joint Operations Command to redeploy its federal security units in the entire administrative borders of Kirkuk Governorate, it still faces some obstacles, so the political leaders must allow the security forces to deploy in those areas that are empty of security
