The Development Road project is the focus of the talks between Iraq and Qatar

The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, met today, Sunday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman.

At the outset of the meeting, Al-Saadawi conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the brotherly government and people of Qatar, and his wishes for further progress and success.

During the meeting, they discussed the development road project, and demonstrated its importance as a strategic project that benefits all countries in the region, and contributes to the revitalization of global trade by linking the east and west of the world.

Al-Saadawi affirmed the Iraqi government’s desire and call to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, especially with regard to the transport sector in general.

On the other hand, the Minister of Transport held a meeting with the Qatari Minister of Communications, Jassim bin Saif Al-Sulaiti.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Sulaiti thanked Al-Saadawi for accepting the invitation to visit Qatar, after which aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries were reviewed, especially with regard to air and sea transport.

The strategic development road project and its importance in achieving economic integration for Iraq and the region were discussed again.
