The Election Law Authorized Coalitions In Order To Obtain A Percentage Of The Vote On The Government

Baghdad The legal expert, Ali Al-Tamimi, confirmed: “The election law authorized alliances in order to obtain the percentage of vote on the government.”

He said in a press statement: “The ban contained in Article 45 of the Elections Law 9 of 2020 is a ban on the MP, party or entity within the open lists winning the elections from moving to a party, bloc or coalition.”

Al-Tamimi added that: This means preventing exit from these coalitions or disengagement from them, and this certainly does not include the independents first, because they are basically not within these blocs or parties, and also the departure of representatives from parties or blocs to be independent on their own also did not prevent the above text.

He explained that: The text authorized alliances in order to obtain a percentage of the vote on the government, and this does not mean that the allies lose their templates and structures, as it is more like a future strategy.
