The Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed its readiness to hold the elections on the scheduled date of October 10, for its extreme importance to the overall situation in Iraq.

It stated in a statement that “the offices of the commission in all governorates are now focusing on providing all means for the success of the elections and for them to gain the confidence of the Iraqis and their national forces.

It added that the issue of electoral security in its various aspects; it is one of the major responsibilities of the government for which it has employed all the efforts of the ministries and relevant authorities to achieve it and provide the appropriate atmosphere for holding the elections, which was based on the formation of the Supreme Security Committee for Elections in accordance with Diwani Order No. 35.
