The Energy Ministerial Council holds a meeting and comes up with several decisions

Baghdad The Ministerial Energy Council held its twenty-fifth regular session for the year 2021, headed by Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Oil: “The Ministerial Energy Council decided to take the necessary steps by the South Refineries Company to develop the Shuaiba refinery in the Basra governorate, and to direct the concerned authorities in the Ministry of Oil to work on adopting the appropriate mechanisms and steps, leading to the implementation of plans to accelerate the implementation and completion of the requirements for the completion of the Karbala oil refinery that has a refining capacity of (140,000 barrels) per day, and a recommendation to study the final steps for the development and expansion of the Diwaniyah refinery.

In the electric power generation sector, the council decided to extend the powers of relieving bottlenecks in the electric power production and transmission systems.
